Grand Palais Show: Sonia Rykiel pour H&M

Sonia Rykiel is the new designer collaborating with HM. Yesterday the official show took place at Paris Grand Palais to launch her lingerie collection (going to be available on Saturday this weekend, yaay!), just before her knitted collection (which will come out in February next year).
What you need to know:
The idea was "Paris at night"...a gigantic blue lighted Eiffel Tower, a big wheel and a forest made of trees with balloons, a chairoplane for the guests and many little bars and shops with sugar cotton and candy. Watch the official video of the event here. I like the setting (lilac!pink!) of this show a lot! The last big HM show was in 2004 - such a luxurious event occurs only every few years.

What was special:
The models were dancing instead of walking on a huge chandelier, a black horse, a swing and bed, which were driven along the catwalk similar to a parade. They all wore the Sonia Rykiel hairstyle (very fluffy hair). Obviously a show that must have been fun for the models, too!

Who came to the show:
Kate Bosworth, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Bai Ling, Nadja Auermann, Eva Herzigova...and some German fashion bloggers!

Did not we see...?
something similar before...Yes! The monopol for such a megashow was until yesterday tributed to Victoria's Secret anual show (read refering post here). Seems like the arena is open for more extraordinary, glittering fashion party shows to be thrown in the future - we love the idea!

Peek on Sonia Rykiel's collection:
I adore the elegance of her collection! The inspiration for Sonia appeared to be the 1920s. Panties are going to be available starting from 7 Euros.

And this is Sonia Rykiel:

Will you be chasing after the collection on Saturday? And how did you like the show?

Every year twenty-four lucky girls from international teenage high society get an invitation to debut on the Crillon Ball held in Paris at the luxurious Hotel de Crillon. Among those girls have been royalty princesses and daugthers of politicians and film stars. They are chosen to wear a Haute Couture (high fashion) designer dress from e.g. Lacroix or Oscar de la Renta. Additionally they are lent jewellery from Adler, the company that hosts the ball. All of the fun is contributing every year for a different charity project! I am amazed about this event, because I heard about it only a few days ago. And I am happy that there is a real Cinderella girl: Famous American fashion blogger Jane Aldridge was invited to Paris to take part for Chanel! I am sure she will publish her personal photos the next hours on Sea of Shoes. So there is dancing and a buffet and many people in sparkling dresses...
I do not have to point out that going to a ball all prettied up in a designer gown is the ultimate dream for every girl??!! Such a great and unique experience^^. If you are further interested in the ball, then take a look at their official homepage, where you can admire the lucky princesses from previous years in their gallery and watch videos from the evening. Wow!!
Love,
