Call me Thrifting Queen :)

Okay, you may think, what is she up to now? Thee-hee, got some ground-braking new thrifted items for my wardrobe, you won't believe it!

This beauty is from French Connection. I found her in a charity shop for less than 10 bucks. In truth, I checked the current F.C. collection and found out that the average blouse originally costs more than twelve times of what I paid. How did this happen? Mere luck? I am not sure, but it seems that the elderly ladies working in the shop appearently never heard of French Connection. An incident that I will come back to later on.

This lightblue jacket was on my wish list for at least two months - but way over my budget for non-necessary, non-basic pieces in extraordinary colours (admittedly they are often the most appealing, aren't they?). Know what? I just stumbled into the shop (Tally Weijl, actually) to find it reduced about 80% of the original price. Yay, spring, I am coming!

Seems like I finally developed the ability to have the right touch when it comes to vintage bargains. Above you see at leather pencil skirt. Ahem...a real leather pencil skirt. Not one of those fake imitations from H&M or Pimkie. It fitted perfectly! But silly as I am, I left the shop (the same where I bought that French Connection blouse) without it in the first place, pondering about whether I should start to wear leather or not (until that point I did not have a single piece of leather or fake leather in my cupboard). My friend HJ set my mind - and the next day I got back to this skirt. Frankly, I have no idea what leather skirts like that normally cost - I got this one also for less than 10 bucks (!) and this strengthens my perception that whoever sets the prices in this charity shop, is appearently not adept when it comes to high brands or luxurious pieces.

What is the conclusion of this, fashionistas? Get yourself up in front of that laptop and give your local second hand/charity shops another try, instead of glancing devoted up to the seemingly unreachable designer pieces on catwalks. You have every chance to hunt down fabulous clothes out there, which keep your wallet from moaning! Happy thrifting, girls! Love,

Hot spiced whine

Lilly wears: (coat+hat hm, shawl etam, dress NYer, tights ca,
boots varese, necklace ebelin, brooch colloseum)

Yaay - finally a new outfit post! I am happy to share a new favourite piece from the Vintage market (here): the black/grey-striped dress! It feels so cozy you do not want to take it off!! And it's really warm, so no problem going out with nasty weather. And also my new hat: I adore the dark strawberry red, it is perfect with everything and so French!! When I wear it I feel like Paris is just a step away!
Today I met my friend CB for whine punch and self-made cookies^^. I am looking forward to the weekend: last big party before Christmas with everyone! How do you like the dress?
Love,

PS: Photo credit goes to FJ, who took the photos without complaining as much as usually....^^

Attending the Vintage Fashion Market!

Exclusive sneak preview of my thrifted treasures!

More about this fabulous Topshop dress below (I'm a lucky, lucky girl!).

Atmosphere at the fashion market: Welcome to the jungle!

A huge crowd of fashion-loving women whirling around.

Pay attention to the sequin bonnet of the woman in the middle!

Dear Jimmy Choo, I really love the sexy killer high heels you designed for H&M that have been released today in Germany! They are gorgeous and they are ... very unaffordable. (And a 10 minutes limit is not enough for shopping!)
So I had another major event to attend today:
The biannually held Vintage Fashion Market for Women! I postet about the last huge fair here. I spent there about three hours and had problems carrying home the four bags with my new treasures! Think of a hall with over 350 women who went through their wardrobe and brought... tons of clothes, shoes and bags!!! In this situation only the laws of the jungle are valid! Prepare to fight for your fave pieces!^^ Of course it also involves a lot of fun: a café and a free beauty photoshooting (probably in the new clothes). Prices are normally low and negotiable. I am very proud of my prey this time (my third time altogether):
  • 3 skirts
  • shorts
  • 3 dresses
  • a winter jacket
  • a shawl (silver)
  • 3 tshirts
  • a top (black lace)
  • a cardigan
  • 2 pullover
  • a blouse
Oh sweet heaven, this was the best day of this month! Let me explain how I got my hands onto the beautiful rasphberry coloured dress from Topshop above^^:

- I asked the owner: How much is it? (thinking: I can never afford it!)
- She said: 5 Euros should be okay!
- And I was like: OMG!! WHAT??? You've got to be kidding me! (trying to hide my surprised facial expression)
In the changing cabin a few women asked: Are you already sure about it? Where did you get it? Let me know if you are not taking it!
- Waaah, it is mine! And yes, yes, yes I am sure!
I ran back to the owner and immediately bought it - so here we are^^. This is the perfect dress ever!

I have to ask FJ tomorrow to take a few outfit shoots with the new pieces!
Love,
Lilly :D
