White Sunday

Lilly in white at the river^^

Hi^^. We celebrated Whit Sunday today (we call it differently, so me dressing completely in white was utterly coincidental!). The sun was shining and I met up with my friend D. in the city to have some strawberry yoghurt ice in a little ice cream parlour. Later we took a walk alongside the river and shoot the pictures you can see in this post! One of her kittens has a sore eye, but I hope it will be happy and sound soon again! In the evening I watched the movie Matrix (1999) for the first time and I am very impressed! Keanu Reeves is so handsome....mmm^^. I am looking forward to see the next part! What an enjoyable Sunday!

More Venice magic...

The cast of 'The Thief Lord'.

Today I watched the movie "The Thief Lord"(2006), after the German novel of Cornelia Funke. It evolves around a group of orphans in Venice that are supported by the mysterious Scipio - the thief lord. Trouble arises, however, when their secret hideaway in an old cinema is discovered by a private detective and furthermore they get to seek for a long lost artefact - the wing of a Venice lion... I love Venice and the story was enchanting and magical! I read the book when I was twelve years old (like the main character Prosper), so this story is somehow a part of my childhood^^. Watching it is definitely recommendable!

Hi^^. I found these beautiful portraits just now and I absolutely adore them! My favourite is the girl with the umbrella. But each of them has her own unique beauty and I admire how the photographer managed to catch it. It always makes me happy when I see somebody secretly smiling or bursting into laughter unexpectedly!^^Source: Oxford Comma.
I am feeling embarrassed to apologize again for my absence...but the bloggers under you might consent that daily life sometimes just takes over, if you have to write exams or receiving guests and going on trips (or all together). For 'Lillys Garden' I am now planning new posts and I will be delighted to embrace summer soon (it is getting warmer every day!!)^^.

New hobby

Hello! I have to apologize for last weeks absence, I have been sick and heavily over-worked. For the weekend, I have been to the coast of the Baltic Sea with my friends! (Pictures as soon as I get my hands on them!). As we walked along the beach today, we met some hobby geologists and luckily they shared their knowledge with us^^. So the outcome was my own little collection of beach pebbles and I am very proud that I can tell all the names: Here we go, the first line in the picture above is (left to right): black flint, yellow flint, two granites; the second line is: sandstone, limestone, gneiss and feldspar. The third row is: quartzite and porphyry! They arrived at the shore at about 10'000 years ago with a glacier during the last glacial period. Now I am excited to learn more about their origin and chemical consistency. Next week I'll paint them with a clear coat. I even got a sunburn, so I'll have to take a little rest now and remember all the funny moments during our weekend^^! Love,

Mother's Day

Hi^^. Today we celebrate Mother's Day and I would like to take the chance to thank my mam cordially for everything! You are the best! May all your wishes come true...I loved to gather forget-me-nots when I was a little girl, luckily they grew in the garden of my grandmother back then. Their latin name is: Myosotis sylvatica.
Also today is Jojo's birthday (earlier refered to as JC) - Happy birthday!! We celebrated on the eve of her birthday yesterday and this included a funny game called 'Die Werwölfe vom Düsterwald' (The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow) by Philippe des Phalliéres and Hervé Marly: A little village is haunted at night by werewolves that pretend to be villagers during the day. Every night they choose a victim and the normal villagers try to find out the true identities of the werewolves among them, before they are killed by them. I hope we can play again soon!! Below is JoJo's present: she wished for colourful mugs and happily I found some (after like twelve stores). Please notice that the colours are perfectly matching each other^^.

Thunderstorm

Hi^^. This morning I woke up from a heavy spring thunderstorm and subsequently I had a headache for half of the following day...-.-. I cheered up in the afternoon, when I met up in the city with my friends JS. and O. to visit a science lecture. Afterwards we went into one of our favourite cafés to have some iced coffee (I am addicted to this stuff and can't get enough of it!!). The photo depicts my new turquoise wallet (a present from my mam) and my (entirely coincidentally) matching mobile bag from my voyage to Amsterdam! Love and kisses,

A. and JS. (I love your necklace, A.!!)

Hi^^. Last Saturday we gathered all together to celebrate a belated birthday party for my friend A.! She went with her family to great lenghts to create a huge buffet for brunching in the kitchen with everything one could possibly wish for^^(strawberrys, croissants, white chocolate spread, mango, sweet rice, mousse au chocolat, vanilla sauce...just to mention my favourites). Altogether we were eight persons and we could not manage to finish the buffet! It was fun to meet up with everybody, we laughed a lot and A. prepared a special presentation with photos from the previous years of her life (great idea!). Dear A., thank you very much for your invitation, it was delicious and surely enjoyable for all of us!

PS.: At some point A. made me wear a white vintage lace blouse that reminds me of gothic lolitas or even a pirate princess^^. And not to mention her necklace! I wish I could have one comparable to her's in white...any suggestions where I can get it?

Meeeoooww

Hi^^. Today we took the special pictures I talked about in the last post, but I won't get them before Monday evening, because they were taken with somebody else's camera. But I promise to upload them^^. My topic today is: Meeeooow!! I love cats! They are cute and wild, elegant and cuddly and there is always something mysterious about their appearance! My friend D. designed the mobilebag above and additionally she is a true cat mother: She raises little pedigree cats by herself, which means an unimaginable effort with every newborn kitten! I think the breed is 'Sacred Birman'. They are rather rare and all of them have crystal blue eyes!! Now imagine a cute fluffy fur ball with two huge blue eyes...you just have to love them at the very first sight!^^The sweet ones below belong to her! Meeeoooowww!!!

Hi^^. I hope we have a warm summer this year, I keep daydreaming about swimming in the lake, having ice cream and partys outside...mmmh. Definitely recommendable: the pareo in this picture! I love the colour, it reminds me of the clear blue water at tropical beaches^^. For tomorrow I plan on taking special pictures, hopefully it works all out!

A Lovely Letter

Today I had loads of work to do! Funny incident: I went with my friends KR. and SH. to the library and when we realised that there was still enough time to relax a little I curled up on a black leather couch there and fell asleep in an instant. They woke me some time later and told me that I got post! I thought they were mocking me (as always), but a guy managed unrecognised to hide a nice little letter in my left shoe while I was asleep^^. This was surprising and fun and we could not find out who put it there in the end (they only saw his back)! It's a pity that he left no name -.-.
Now I have to get some rest, because gymnastic lessons have been exhausting today! Pic shows my outfit this day. Love,

Blissful Memories II

Hi everyone^^. Today still more pictures and memories of my stay with my family. On Monday I went window-shopping with my mam and she bought me a turquoise wallet and a blue ring (which both will be shown another time). We had ice cream twice (up to that day I couldn't imagine to eat two sundae (strawberry and chocolate) in a single day! In the evening we enjoyed beer with grapefruit taste and went to bed early^^. On Tuesday we cooked my favourite meal together: dumplings with fungal sauce - delicious!!!. In the afternoon still another visit to the ice cream parlour with two of my brothers and finally I left in the early evening hours for my home city. Kisses to all my beloved ones, I enjoyed the time and can't wait to return in late summer!

Blissful Memories I

One of the roses we got as presents^^.

Hi^^. Last weekend I went to see my family and I was happy to meet up with everybody! In the evening my mam and I celebrated the reunion with some prosecco and Italian pizza bread^^. Saturday morning my sister invited me to have brunch in a organic restaurant...thank you very much, my lovely! It was delicious and lateron my mam joined us for a cappuccino in the sun.

Lucky enough we were invited to the opening party of a local beauty salon that day. They had a stylish lavender interior and pink roses along with little cosmetics as give aways. My sis got black nail polish with silver powder and I a pink bubble bath candy (wild rose). Afterwards we were shopping and my finds are depicted below!

Sunday a special family celebration took place and we spent a wonderful day together eating, talking and laughing. My mum chose a decoration in white/yellow tones and we had little roses everywhere. In the afternoon I could enjoy strawberry cake with whipped cream and mam's raspberry cream!
