What are you reading at the moment?

Hi =). I did not exspect to have the time to read, but you know - a little now and then...ahaha. It took me two days to finish Zafóns 'Shadow of the Wind' and it has about 500 pages. =) Okay, let's see what I have here: The Instyle and Grazia are bought at the airport in Germany (April issues). I found the Allure left at our apartment (from last year). Now it's an easy guess where my fancy wall decoration comes from (in this post).

Then there are two books featuring the under water life here (always checking after snorkeling!!^^). And of course Carlos Ruiz Zafón's 'The Shadow of the Wind' and Margaret Atwood's Oryx and Crake (review is in preparation). You can find a review for Zafón here.

A German-speaking friend of mine here is reading the 'Psychologie Heute' (Psychology Today) and lending it to me^^. It is a magazine about the recent research findings in the field of psychology and related topics. Very interesting! What are you reading at the moment? Can you recommend something specific for this summer?

Peek into an Israeli Fashion Mag =)

My abilities to read Hebrew are still developing... so for now I feel nearly like an analphabet, when I try to read a magazine! I found this magazine and took some impressions out for you. Are you looking for your own pirate ship or did you ever see the cutest washing machine in the world?

Many people here have extra curly hair (adorable!!).

Reminds me of the Black Pearl...yaay for Pirate jewellery!

Be you-nique...okay. This ad directly aimed at every fashionista's heart who already has everything and seeks for the perfect possibility to endulge herself with an extra washing machine for her beloved treasures! by smeg.

Scarlett Johansson for the Mango campaign 2010!

Can you spot the pink Kitchen Aid (c) on the left?? I want!! Also love the rest of this kitchen.

There will be more Israeli fashion campaigns soon! Lots of work for today... Lovely Thursday!

Burda DIY-Magazine Editorial

This editorial is featured in the German DIY-Magazine Burda. All of those creations make me so envious! I wish I could sew a little better to work with the including patterns! The tunica in the first pic and the blue vest in the second are my favourite. The shooting-location is chosen carefully well! I will take a look in the "Burda - Easy fashion" magazine (an easier spin-off). No sewing-machine within reach though...damn. A girl can dream!

This morning I met with HJ and her friend C. to have a tasty brunch together. My breakfast preferences are: croissant with chocolate, an egg, coffee/orange juice and (occassionally) a glass of sparkling whine - perfect! Later we visited a shoe exhibition and took some cheesy shoe pictures (coming soon), as well as some serious catwalk-training (lol). I will make dinner now and try on my recent H&M order (could not find the time for this for now about four days, argh!!).
Love and Kisses,

Fashion Mag Review: Grazia

Just introduced in Germany: Grazia, a weekly fashion/style/celbrity/mag! I waited for the second issue to appear in order to give an informative review. Price is considerably low: only 1 Euro!

Grazia covers High Fashion, Editorials, Street-Fashion, Style Check and latest Accessory.

Furthermore, there are make-up/beauty, interiour decoration, travel and health articles.

Stars: ****
I give this mag 4 stars out of 5, because there is one point that I dislike: several extensive celebrity reports are featured, and this is not the stuff I am interested on this paparazzi level - I have my own life. Back to the good points: Frankly I do not know yet if Grazia will become a constant buy or not. What appeals to me, is the high quality paper and the (in relation) many fashion-related pages. You get more fashion inspiration out of this (published 4 times a month!) than you get from the overall fashion articles in a monthly mag!

What surprised me positively is also, that there were a political and a third-world country article included - great variety! Check the mixture out, if your country has its own Grazia-Edition. They are available in Europe and many parts of the world already.

Fashion Mag review: BLONDE

On my hunt for fashion magazines apart from glossy mainstream stuff, I came upon BLONDE.
Here is my review:
The cover from the actual "inSleep Issue". It is rather huge (even larger in size than Elle or Vogue) and printed on high quality paper.

Glimpse of on of their editorials. Blonde is produced in Hamburg (Germany) and is usually available all around the country, for example at the local station. Price is 5 Euros. Published 4 times a year.

An ad of "Blutsgeschwister", a German fashion brand. My personal favourite ad! I will decorate my room with this^^. (If you are interested in Blutsgeschwister, click here.)

They had their models "sleeping" in the main editorial - we love the flamingo and the pose! It has a certain Alice-related touch, don't you think?

Sleeping Beauty or little Red Ridinghood? Crave the shoes and her gloves!

Additional pages about make up, lifestyle, films, books, decoration, music and more. Felt instantly inspired by the cushions. Doughnut, anyone? Sweet dreams!

Cute-ness factor close to 100 %. The bear pullover.

Review: *****
Five stars! Refreshing, to read a magazine which is not dominated by stars or gossip and features more individual and unique clothes. I noted, that in most of their editorials they were refering to Vintage Online Shops are young designers. They show the brands and products that do not usually get mainstream attention. This is an extra plus! I also favour the regular "Streetstyle"-section. You want more Blonde? Click here. Each issue is focused on a theme, the next one being "The Blue Issue", published on 26th of February this year.
Buy your own copy and enjoy the sensation^^!

The Blogettes - new blogger mag!

Stylish. Independent. Fabulous.

That describes The Blogettes, a fashion blogger magazine by Mirjam (Chic&Schlau) and Julia (Fanfarella). The concept contains high quality fashion shootings, blogging advice, give-away contests, fashion event calendar, local street styles and blogger portraits with focus on new faces. Congratulations to the launch of the first issue! I am looking forward to the next one, as I am convinced this will set new standards to what we associate with fashion blogging!
