Lucky genes

Chromosomes

Delighted I read about the following: The British scientist Elaine Fox (University of Essex) discovered a lucky-gene-variant. In her experiments she asked subjects to look at happy, neutral and terrifiying pictures. Some of the subjects neglected the minatory pictures and kept looking at the positive ones. It turned out that they had a specific genetical feature: the gen 5-HTTLPR is slightly longer than the normal version. This gen controls the transport of the neurotransmitter serotonin, a messenger that is associated with happiness.
I wonder if anybody I know has this gene variant? Tonight we are heading for the Easter fair again, so I will try to finish my work before that^^.

Lilly :)
